Picking up my ordered 2025 Ranger XLT Marsh gray from dealer this week.
I will try to inspect the truck the best i can before agreeing to purchase it.
Probably bring a tarp to throw under it to inspect the under carriage.
Is there any common quality issues i should pay attention to..

Things i know about the way its built or quality:
Some areas of the under carriage are not coated and rusty. Drive shaft.
Check Body gaps. Paint Quality
Interior quality and gaps.
Look for damage. I saw once on this forum a truck with damage between cab and bed.
Check all lights work.
Test drive it. What should i look for or feel or listen too. Does the tranny still have that learning feature of the way you drive..
Low mileage not much above zero.

Doors, fenders to bumper, hood, tailgate. Gaps and levelness were horrible on mine, like it was put together by a blind person.

Only thing other than what you have written down - is if you have a bedliner that is plastic, inspect the places where that had to cut it and make sure it looks how you want. For example: the cutout for the power ports. Make sure that there is one at all, and make sure that it’s not jagged.

Enjoy your new truck!

Ah, yes is the truck level, I have a spray in bed linear. I know if you wish to say put in a swing box the plastic bedliner needs to be cut, sometimes Butchered.
The tie down hooks with spray in liner can be hard to get out if needed.
I will be trading in my 4G Ranger i hate selling stuff. Just wish to cover the $3K I am short.
Sent pictures. 123KM. No accidents 2.3L standard. No body rust. Interior thrashed.
They said $5K but i think when they see it I will get less.
In some way's the XL would have done it for me. I did not put a lot of electronics on it.
Just wanted the FX4 bash plates, OWL tires, I do not like the one color frontal area of the XL. Probably could have just purchased that to change. No 301A package skip power seat since manual had the adjustable lumbar i need. Just realized the lumbar is powered on the 301A. More stuff to fail. No black out Pkg. I like the black wheel well trim. Wanted 17" tires for off roading. Wanted Black Rims. Connivence Pkg. Did the 2.3L since its so reliable and I like all the open space in the engine compartment. Not pulling anything heavy. Powered rear sliding window. You have to live for now. Thought I would treat myself. Definitely putting seat covers on this one.

Check your roof antenna…
Mine was almost completely pulled through the roof by either the dealers automatic car wash,or the bedliner installer.
I didn’t notice until the drive home upon hearing something rattling from the rear of the cab.
At first i thought it must be something in the truck, and purely because i wanted to detail the truck once I arrived home, did i find my antenna hanging by the cable on the roof.
Thankfully they made it right, but it took them 2 weeks at the body shop to fix it.

and if its not hanging, make sure its actually up there. my son's truck didn't come with the antenna. they lost it somewhere and he didn't know to look for a mast because he thought it was just a shark fin antenna.

make sure the spare and jack stuff is there. its rare but sometimes the jack or handle are missing on vehicles. make sure the tire lug lock tool is in the glove box

I will just do aftermarket security wheel lugs. At Dealer i just want the Security Key Pad.
They would not put inside the gas cover. Seeing if i can just get the pad to place where i want.

I looks like it will take a while to inspect it. I will make a list so I cover most things.
I heard the back doors are hard to close because of air pressure. Play with all the knobs.
Try the 4X4 and Locker.

Check the paint all over. I bought a 2024 Ranger XLT FX4 4X4 and the paint had so many swirls in it it had to be buffed out. Take a LED light with you and go over the whole trucks. Swirls drive me nuts.

mine and my son's rear doors were hard to open. they are still harder than the fronts but maybe just from lack of use?

One of the rear door issue is they are sealed so well. Air pressure does not vent off.

Check the bottom seat covers on the front seats. Sometimes they are loose and wrinkled. I had to submit a warranty claim on my 2025 Ranger Lariat that’s 2 weeks old. Awaiting feedback from Ford. These seats shouldn’t look like they’re 4 years old when new.
