Went to my Ford dealer a few days ago to look at the Bronco Sport Badlands. While there I asked the salesman if we could look at the Ranger Lariats.

They only had 8 on the lot, and 4 of those were 2025 models. Seems strange that they sill have 2025s. None of the Lariats were configured the way I want so I didn't spend much time looking at them.

Then the salesman said something that surprised me. He said he's "pretty sure" the Ranger is
being discontinued. No Ranger for 2027. He said the Fathom and Bronco truck are the main reasons.

So I don't know what to make of this. Just a BS story in hopes of prompting me into buying a Ranger now?
Galpin? They had a white one I was interested in, but couldn't match or beat the deal I got from AZ, making it worth my time to go out of state.

FYI, if you're interested in a Ranger Lariat - the 2025s are actually "better".
They still have real leather seats, upgraded headlights and a few other features that '26s don't have or come standard with.

Yes, Galpin. But none of their 2025 or 2026 Rangers have the features I want...FX4 off-road package,
Advanced towing plus tech package, convenience package, and integrated box side step.
I consider these feature mandatory for me. I'm looking forward to Tim's 2027 Ranger video to see
what changes are in store for the new year. Note...I almost bought a Ranger last year, and I posted
about it. But I had a financial emergency (home repairs) and had to use my Ranger money I had
set aside.

Over the past 2 years I have considered a few vehicles that I can use for towing a small travel
trailer AND use for mild off-roading fun. I keep coming back to the ranger.

Thanks for the tip about the 2025 Ranger.

This was the one I was cross-shopping. I believe 2025 Lariats get bed lighting and 120v outlet standard - b/c I was also wanting FX4 and Advanced Towing for my baseline. My Lariat has the lighting and 400w outlet and no convenience package was added, FYI. (I was pleasantly surprised at pick up when I saw the bed outlet - feature I wanted, but was ok without due to the deal I got)

Oh and Oxford White is one of the 3 colors ARB is going to import their cap in, if you're wanting one of those. I'm likely settling for a black Maxliner Venture b/c I can't get a decent color-matched option. Darn, if only Galpin would have matched my deal, I'd be driving that white one!

I do wish the azure grey I ended up with had side steps, but I'm making do so far.

They should be able to do at least a $2k dealer discount on that one; hopefully more since it hasn't moved in the 2+ months I was email negotiating with them.

I have a friend at Ford, and the Ranger nameplate is not being sunset again anytime in the near future. Now, the F-100 may be a rebranding of the Ranger SuperDuty, but that is speculation on my part.

The Lincoln Bronco is being designed to compete with Land Rover, and most likely the Defender. The current Filson edition is basically a marketing test. For the Lincoln Bronco, I'd wager on a fixed roof with a moonroof or safari top option.

Everest is still not coming... but they are still testing current body, LHD mules here. If it does come stateside, it'll likely be built alongside the Ranger at the TTF.
Lincoln Bronco, seriously? I guess they didn't learn their lesson with the Lincoln Blackwood. That was just a gussied up F-150 nobody wanted.

Yeah, that's a nicely equipped Ranger. But my favorite colors are carbonized grey and desert sand.
Don't know if they will be available for the 2027 year.

Most salespeople are far from experts on the products they're selling. Especially in the auto industry.
Correct…..but to the unknowing they like to pose like they are. I love busting them at the knees and watching them realize they’re loosing their balance.

I suspect it's going to be loosely based on the Bronco, as in use the standard 4dr Bronco frame and some of the under-pinnings. There may be some other shared components, but I wager it will be pretty unique to compete with the likes of the Defender and G550.

If Ford is smart, they will make it into a halo-type car, similar to the Mk8. Power, luxury, and refinement; now with killer off road prowess.

I asked my neighbor to reach out to her Brother and SIL, He is a Manager at the plant making the Ranger, and she is a line supervisor on the Ranger. We will see.
Thanks, looking forward to what they say. I'd also like to know what the colors will be in 2027.

I dont know if the Bronco is the big seller Ford wanted it to be. When I visit my ford dealer ,they always have Broncos sitting on the lot for months, the same ones all summer long. It seems like no one is buying them this summer? Perhaps the prices are too high. I know interest rates still suk:sunglasses:

Salesman was lying his ass off to get you to buy! Report the Dealer to Ford!

I looked at some sales numbers the other day for Ford's truck line and The rangers are at the very bottom when it comes to units sold and profit margins here in the US.
Of course the F-150 is on top followed by the Bronco and the Maverick. Speculation is all over the place right now when it comes to the Ranger but if Ford didn't do much with the US Ranger line in coming years it's completely understandable. They just don't sell as well in the United States as they do another countries.

Have you seen a single advertisement for a new Ranger? Like, ever?

I have seen one and it only shows the Ranger for about 3 seconds. The Bronco and F150 get most of the screen time.
