Stupid question - cell phone holder.

Just got my 2026 Ford Ranger and picked up a MagSafe cell phone holder. No big deal, right? Well with the textured dashboard and the slant of the windshield it was a lot more difficult than I anticipated. I don't want it to block my vision. Don't want it so far out of sight it useless. I don't want it to leave a mark. Something so easy turned into a mission. Maybe it's the cell phone holder I selected.

I have an offroam mount that attaches above the center screen and I used a 2" bullet point arm and phone clamp as the holder part.

The bottom mount piece on that page. I already had the bullet point stuff. They use the same size ball. I don't have a pic because my phone that had pics died a painful death a few weeks back

I don't need to see my cell as it's all on the display anyway. I do use an RV GPS when towing though and this little holder with the standard ball clips nicely to the vent. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NWFZYBW

Really happy with the Tackform as it's super simple to install, can just as easily be removed and gives a lot of real estate to move the mounts around to where you want.

Lido makes some nice mounts including a vent type cell phone mount. He didn't have those curvy hooks to hold your crack pipe.

I second the Offroam mount. It's strong as hell and can be installed/removed in seconds.

For my truck use, daily driver/not work truck/no offroad adventures, I don't understand the need to a cellphone holder due to the infotainment interface and connectivity - I have all cell features available without having to touch the phone once Android Auto has connected up.

I hope the OP looked at this. ProClip is by far the best in terms of OEM integration. I’ve had them in every vehicle I’ve ever owned. They are pricey compared to cheap Amazon mounts but 10/10 worth it. Here’s mine in my raptor.

I’ve never hit my hand on the mount with any orientation of hand placement. I do have an iPhone Air which is super thin, although I’d bet even a thicker phone wouldn’t have an issue either.
