XLT beats all other options...!!!!

I think an xlt is the best buy for the money, though I didn't watch either video.

I wrote a list of what I actually used/needed versus what I wanted and the stx covered it all with the 2.3.


I just should have gotten the 4x4 version and my wife says I should have gotten heated seats.

So I got a heated pad for her side that slid in under the nice seat cover.

To bad I can't easily add 4x4 though. I still would have not actually used it once the whole time I have had this truck but sometimes I like to put the wife's jeep in 4x4 and drive through the yard so I could say I used it.


And we may actually need it some day if my older son gets stationed somewhere else that gets snow and we go visit when it snows. Luckily, each time we have gone to Omaha to visit him, it has never snowed.

I bought my 24 as a demo with 750 miles on it. I couldn't tell it had not just rolled off the line. The truck is loaded with every option and then some I think. I favor cloth over leather so that fit well. The only things it doesn't have that would be nice is the heated mirrors with the turn signals in them. Other than that I'm more than happy with the truck.

Doesn't the XLT only come with the standard LED headlights?

The "high performance" lamps in the Lariat make up the price difference alone in my opinion. The only thing I like better about the XLT is the wheels, although the lariat rims have grown on me.



Lariat only comes with an 18" wheel. No bueno for offroading . The more sidewall the better.

Raptor or bust. I learned long ago to just get the top spec of any vehicle I am purchasing. Otherwise I'm left wanting. If I can't afford the top spec, then a cheaper vehicle it is.

I would argue that the Raptor isn't the "top spec" but rather geared toward a different audience altogether. It's more than a mere trim package, given its unique engine, stance, and relatively low towing and payload. It's a truck that doesn't interest me in the least, but I like the other Rangers.

While the Lariat has some features I like, the money difference meant I could afford important upgrades for the same money. Yes, I really wanted push start, keyless entry, rain sensor wipers, and the second glovebox. I just couldn't reconciled the price for them. The real pity is that there are several features on the Ranger XLT that I could not get on my 202 Mustang at any price. You cannot get 360 view, (not even front cameras) on any Mustang, despite being highly desired by most owners.

When I bought my '24 model new the Lariat was the only level I considered. The performance headlamps, once I got used to them, are awesome! Also, I wanted the power fold mirrors, which requires a Lariat or Raptor. My '19 had the powerfold mirrors and I really like that feature since our garage at home is on the tight side. Memory seats are nice to have since my wife and I are very different in stature, me around 6 foot tall and her around 5 foot tall. Sadly the Lariat has been de-contented, including loss of the awesome headlamps and loss of real leather, so the price difference might be a little tougher to justify now... My truck has the FX4, 2.3 engine, and advanced towing.

I had to read the thread just for the laughs. I knew there would be the classic, “I didn’t watch/wasn’t able to finish the video…” comments. Then the defense arguments, the bandwagoning comments, etc. Funny thing is, I can tell you every member’s favorite trim level. It’s the one they have.

Funny thing is, I can tell you every member’s favorite trim level. It’s the one they have.

Admittedly I could only watch the first 20 seconds….didn’t see much reason to go beyond that. All of the video clips were rip-offs from other youtubers.

I think I like the Lariat more. Just too cheap to buy one. However, as I close in on retirement I am reconsidering my miserly ways.

So power fold but not heated. Interesting decision by Ford... Are they auto fold? Mine fold when I lock it and unfold when I unlock in addition to having a button I can press to control the fold when needed.

That’s a menu-driven state, which I have turned off. I imagine it’s the same in the Lariat.

I have the same. For me, even the STX is flashier than what I wanted. Way more screens and tech than I really wanted.
I wish they made a base manual model with only a basic radio with bluetooth, and maybe A/C. Old school manual crank windows, mechanical door locks, steelies and all that are fine. No drive modes needed. Basically the same equipment as the old 2006 SR5 Tacoma I used to have 10 years ago. Oh, and make a 6ft box an option, please.
