Excellent! Did the mod this afternoon. Took all of 10 minutes. I used an X-acto knife.

Initially I was only going to do the UP side, but the Ford switches have a nice heavy middle click so less likely to accidentally open them all the way instead of partial down. My old GMC had, and my wife's Lexus has much lighter touch switches.

I noticed that the rear switches (on the drivers control) rub against the trim. It looks like the switches already had some wear on them so its probably been doing this all along. There just was never enough travel in the switches to notice. So I added two small "nut" size pieces of weather stripping to give some extra space for clearance. I had to double up on both sides. That seemed to give enough clearance and I am not concerned about any weather related issues as its designed for deflecting moisture.

Knocked out the front switches this morning. Had a bit of a struggle getting the rear most clip loose, but after that came out, 5 minutes to nip the nubs, test, and reinstall. Thank you again!

Well Holy Schlitz, it worked. 30 minutes start to testing on the driver's controls.

I'm not going to worry about the rear controls at this time. My daughter doesn't like having the windows down.

Does she have long hair? I ask because my wife has long hair our daughter's hair isn't as long the wife hates the windows down because it blows her hair around but hell that just makes me roll the damn windows down every chance I get then pretend like I don't notice the window locks are on or I tell her they have to be down for our dog. I usually get called some pretty colorful names for it but it's worth it just to mess with her. Daughter doesn't really care either way unless some kind of bug flies in the window then she too goes batshit crazy.

I'm always outnumbered so I have to get at them anyway I can.

They both have long hair, so they actually both complain. I think I must be less suicidal then you.

Wish I had read your post before jumping in and doing the mod to my Ranger today!

I ran into the same problem - with the added travel of the auto up/down, the switch was rubbing on the trim. I tried trimming the trim with an exacto knife on the inside where you can't see, but it didn't help enough.

Similar to what you did, I added a plastic washer to the 2 rear torx screws, to act as spacers and give enough clearance for the switches. Worked like a charm!

Thanks again @Gman10 !!
