Same here, I've had it be up to 10 degrees high at startup after sitting in the sun all day. Comes down when driving but still seems to read a couple degrees high.

Same issue on my Raptor. Reads 5-7 degrees higher than actual temp.

I'm not sure where the sensor is located. Maybe behind the grill. Even if you are moving, it can only measure the temperature maybe 3 to 4 feet above a concrete or asphalt surface. That would be significantly warmer than something like a real weather station in a shaded, vented box x feet off dirt or grass during the Summer. The only way to judge its accuracy would be to put a known accurate thermometer next to the sensor and measure the difference in readings.

Don't really see an issue why it matters that much. We've all got phones with a weather app, use that instead. Android Auto even supports a weather app on the headunit that gives you temp and all sorts of other weather info. It's called "Weather&Radar".

So true. I park in shade at work, temp seems high from the start, but comes down a few degrees once I get going. But once I hit the asphalt interstate with lots of traffic, temp rises 3-4 degrees. Then it drops down 3-4 when I get off the interstate on to country roads (take me home).
Could be just driving at highway speeds, but then it's not ambient temp.

I don't think that would be an accurate way to measure temp in your location. Those are just best guess extrapolating from the nearest weather station, which could be miles away. Unless you have an accurate thermometer present with you, who knows? The vehicle temp display could be correct.

Ambient air temp sensor is located in the passenger side mirror.

I think the F150 has it in the drivers side.

Seems the values can be re calibrated via the dealership FDRS scan tool.

Has anyone successfully had this addressed? Mine Raptor is 7-10 over consistently. Doesn’t matter if shaded or driving. It’s does cool off from the sun when driving or in the touch free car wash but the baseline seems wrong since it’s never even close.

Also the temperature sensor looks very different than on my Bronco. Seems like it has a plastic tab covering it.

Noticed the same thing of mine being 5-7 degrees off. I poked around on the interwebs a couple of days ago on this issue but found nothing yet specific to 6G Rangers.

Seems to be a common issue across all Ford vehicles. I had found some things on the F-150 side about resetting the Ambient Air Temperature sensor calibrations via some button pushes on the HVAC control or using a scan tool but that went nowhere for me.

I have this issue with my 2025 Ranger…reads around 10 degrees hotter than ambient. My previous car (Edge) read spot on.

Mines also off by about 7-10 degrees either parked or driving. My BMW would let you adjust this +- 10 in the infotainment. Would be nice if we had a way to do this as well.

Based on my searching, there isn't a setting or calibration step in FORScan or other software like FDRS that can add an offset to the outside sensor, or to even recalibrate it.

Mine seems mostly accurate once moving, but like most vehicles it can be quite high (10+°F) when parked in the sun. Which makes sense.
