There comes a time when enough is enough. With having to reinforce my bed for a latter rack and now having to deal with it changing drive modes by itself. Ford has no clue and its been sitting at the dealer for a week. Please google RR changing drive modes by itself.

I do think the box reinforcement should be done for all owners. As far as RR Mode change, I have over 19,000 miles and it not happened to me. I know how frustrating it is to watch the manufacturer flounder to find a fix to their own product. I have had a bunch of lemon law buybacks from ford. This truck has really been one of the best products I've bought from ford in a while. Sorry you are having issues, it really sours the experience.

Mine has been trouble free for 20K miles so far. But that would suck if they don't know what the fix is for yours.

I’m sorry to hear you’re not happy with your raptor, but the subject of the post seems a bit over the top. I can’t speak for what percentage of folks have a problem with drive modes changing, but nobody who buys a Ranger built after Sep 12 2024 has the jbrace issue.

Agreed. My Lariat was made Nov., 2024. No bed support issue.

Have you had the mode selector rotary switch replaced yet? Surely it’s as simple as a faulty switch. The whole switch panel comes out super easy and it’s one plug. Surely that would be where to look first.

You’re writing off the entire truck when it could be a simple dodgy switch? Which takes all of 30seconds to replace

22000 miles and never once had anything like that happen.

Also googling it made me feel like it’s an even smaller issue than I expected it to be. There are like 2 Reddit posts with a couple replies and a few posts here without many replies (nothing compared to things that are a real problem). Like 20 people all in saying they experienced it at some point combining posts and replies and assuming it’s not the same people in multiple places (though really I’m sure it is because you’re on all of them yourself lol:p). That’s nothing.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a few people just have defective or damaged selector knobs. There is an expected failure/defect rate in everything. I know someone who had theirs replaced (but they had a Lariat, not a Raptor) because it wouldn’t stop immediately when they tried to change modes - like it would fly across several when trying to move one over. But they also said their husky had a habit of standing on it.

Lol I feel your pain, not with my RR, but with my 2020 edge. The AWD module died, I diagnosed it, researched repairing it, figured out I wouldn't be able to do this fix on my own (only dealers get licensed the software and receive support for it) even though I'm more than capable of such a repair. Vehicle has been at the dealership going on week 3, dealer confirmed my diagnostics in 2 hours, module showed up the following day, and they haven't been able to get it to program. Oh well!

I have 23,000 miles on mine and just yesterday I experienced the changing drive modes while driving. I was going about 45 mph and it started scrolling through the modes, landing on rock crawl - went to 4L, diffs locked. I had to brake quickly and pull off the road. Kind of scary to be honest. It was the first and only time it has happened, but I'm definitely going to let the dealer know about it when I'm in for my next oil change. And the peeling paint on the lower bumper that seems to be affecting several of us. I do feel like my knob is a bit "sticky" but still strange since I haven't used the knob in weeks. When I pulled over I turned the truck off, sat for a few minutes, and then turned it back on and drove home. Ok so far today. We'll see....

All owners? Who knew?
sure since some owners have reported this cropping up after awhile, there is no guarantee it won’ crop up for anyone

and as pointed out, the part is out of stock, so guessing there might be a demand for replacing it

and we don’t really know what the problem is

yes, I think we all should be concerned
