Just wondering what product I should use on the exterior plastic areas on my RR. I've got the Chemical Guys ceramic/hybrid spray wax (Hydro Blitz) they say can be applied to the plastics. Is that ok?

There are two components to taking care of plastics. The first is protecting them. Many products will do a fine job. Just make sure they’re easy to use and safe if a little bit gets on your paint. Something like Hydro Blitz is good because you don’t have to split your paint application and plastic application.

The second, often overlooked, component is keeping the plastics clean. Environmental contaminants — especially during winter — are hard on plastics. Properly cleaning your plastics will ensure a longer service life.

Thanks! I haven't bought a truck in 17 years...Lots has changed since then!

303 is a protector, for sure, but it is not very attractive. Armor All is pure nasty. I have used this product for many years on tires, external plastics and also the plastic and rubber parts under the hood. I have not found a better product.

If you hate the shiny “just oiled” look of most tire dressings, you will love it.

Try the smallest size, you will end up reordering the gallon refill…. ;)

Eventually any plastic trim will start to turn gray, it happens from UV exposure, at that point you need to use a “back to black” product to re-dye it. The best thing for your vehicles is to never leave them outside.

I haven’t noticed any real appearance appearance difference between armorall and 303.

303 does seem to last longer for me.

my experience is if you keep it up, and you don’t leave your car outside constantly, you can keep black plastic trim black.

ww will see if the ranger is the same

I went full on with the Adam's Polishes Ceramic Coating. Check their video on plastic application.

I use 303 products on my plastics. Lucas products makes an interior plastic cleaner/protecting product. I just do not have any experience with it.

I use the Turtle Wax ceramic hybrid on everything. My 2024 Lariat is still perfect and my 2019 Wrangler looks like it just came off the showroom floor.

Thanks, guys! I just used the Chem Guys Hydro Blitz on all painted and plastic surfaces. Wow...That stuff is so easy to apply! Really impressed with the results, but we'll see how it does over time.

Been using the Meguiar's the past couple of summers and have tried the Chem Guys. These two work well and are similar to each other.

I use Turtle wax ceramic wipes on all the exterior plastic after a wash and wipe down after. Works really good. Been using on my tires since the coating the detail shop put on them finally wore off after 6 months and it works on them great as well. Use Chemical guys Speed wipe on all the paint and wipe down the plastic with it between washes as well. Work pretty good, it has anti static properties so dirt doesn’t stick as much, plus everything is ceramic coated already.

Does that restorer work well on the matte fenders? They aren't quite typical black plastic trim.
