It's possible that a regional rep could assign that priority. I guess I need to reach out to my dealership and see if they can do the same for mine. That will get your order pulled first from your dealership and put you ahead of everyone else when Ford starts scheduling.

No. Ford recently made a change where dealerships can use 03 to 19 for retail orders.

My dealer just contacted me saying the order has to be switched to retail. I already had a deposit in for their one stock allocation and they just made the change. I immediately got the typical retail order email from Ford.

Just throwing another data point out there.

I have a Raptor ordered at MSRP from a dealer I have been working with for many years. They shared info with me on May 25 that spoke to the steps of the process and some key dates. Stock orders changed to retail at a certain point and OKTB timing. Its seems things are moving according to plan or close to it anyway based on the info they shared. OKTB for Raptor in early Oct was the plan at that time. We shall see but I don't think things are as messy as they may appear.

This is very good information. Thanks

My dealer just switched my stock Raptor order to retail, apparently per Ford's most recent bulletin. As such, I received an order email directly from Ford and am now price protected. Can anyone confirm this bulletin? I haven't seen it myself, but the dealership GM assured me Ford gave clear instructions.

Yes, it is true. That does help to price protect those retail Raptor orders for customers that will receive them.

maybe they are changing them to retail because not many regular rangers have been ordered?

I'm getting a retail XLT 4x4 but I've been thinking about the Raptor Stock-to-Retail change. It would seem logical Ford is perhaps realizing there is a large pent up demand for the Raptor. Those of you that have a dealer keeping your stock order AND putting in a retail order seem to be in a great position. Those who had the dealer switch you strictly to retail just possibly were not first allocation stock order customers. Although I'm sure many were. So this change could be a good thing if you actually were not as you now actually have an active order. If that is the case, it would be nice you were considered "first in line" by the dealer inputing the retail Raptor orders. Frankly I'm surprised so many people want the Raptor. Not because it's not freaking awesome, but the price point. My fear would be dealers not getting the word of this change and messing orders up and/or a repeat of the confusion along the lines of the Hybrid Maverick launch. Ford did not anticipate the demand. So, I would be more worried about lack of parts to fulfill the apparent Raptor demand, so stay on top of any constraint issues on your build and be sure to confirm with your dealer that they know of the change.

I'm getting a retail XLT 4x4 so I have no skin in the game regarding the Raptor Stock-to-Retail change. So being able to think about this without the investment, it would seem logical Ford is realizing there is (from what I see on this forum at least) a large pent up demand for the Raptor. Those of you that have a dealer keeping your stock order AND putting in a retail order seem to be in a great position. Those who had the dealer switch you strictly to retail probably were not first on the stock order customer list anyway, and probably had a long wait ahead of you. So this change would be a good thing for those in that scenario as well, as you now ACTUALLY have an active order. And, if one can logically surmise that is the case, it would be nice that if you put in a stock order early (but you were not the first dealer stock allocation order), you would be considered first in line by the dealer inputing the retail Raptor orders. Hopefully since this is a new change, most dealers had the common sense to put the earlier customer stock orders into retail first. And, sense this is so new and was caught quickly, it seems logical there would not be too many people that got lucky and had a retail order placed ahead of your changed order. Frankly I'm surprised so many people want the Raptor. Not because it's not freaking awesome, but the price point, so I can take a little more pity on Ford thinking the same thing. So, my fear would be something of a repeat of the Hybrid Maverick FUBAR launch! Ford did not anticipate the demand a good price point truck along with hybrid great gas mileage might actually interest people (though they should have). So, I would be more worried about lack of parts/capacity to fulfill the apparent Raptor demand. Just my thoughts with nothing to back up anything I wrote above.
Thats’s not really an accurate assumption to make. I was the first RRaptor order at my dealer (9AM 5/26). It was put in as stock. I was just switched to retail. The dealer has zero other orders in for a RRaptor. The only thing that changes for me here is that I’m price protected now and I also get direct updates from Ford instead of through my sales guy.

Same. I know with 100% certainty that I was the first and still am the only order. Got switched to retail today.

What are the full details for the price protection?

I’m not an expert here, but my assumption is that the MSRP that you ordered at is the price you pay on delivery even if Ford ups the MSRP between now and then.

Since my post was long with many assumptions, which assumption is not accurate? The whole post? Not being a for sure stock order? (I addressed that). If nothing has changed for you except now being price protected and getting updates. Is that not a good thing?

What part is not accurate? Unless your stating you have been taken off their stock list and are now purely retail. In that case I would have to agree with you for those in that situation. I am referring to the post's from people that have been allowed to keep both type of orders.
You stated: “Those who had the dealer switch you strictly to retail probably were not first on the stock order customer list anyway”.

I was refuting this part of your comment

I'm sure many were on the stock list and were then switched to retail. Reading some posts, I found it slightly unusual why some were allowed by the dealer to stay on stock and retail. Just thought it was unusual and a point to ponder. But fair enough on your point!
