J braces back in stock

Canceled it outright as far as I can tell. And now they are out of stock.

Well that's pretty bold of them just to up and cancel your order. At a minimum they should leave the order up on back order. There's something fishy going on here. Either they are taking all available supply for the new production Rangers (most likely) so the rest of us are SOL, or they are going to issue a retrofit recall for the rest of us (very doubtful)

Rangers built after a point in September do not require the braces any longer due to a design change - so they are not using these reinforcement brackets for new production.

So they are not just add the brackets at the assembly stage? I'd like to see what the redesigned load bed looks like then. It certainly would be a more cost effective solution to have integrated welds and gussets rather than a bolt on accessory bracket.

i'm well aware of that post given i'm the second person who commented in the thread you linked..

what i'm saying is, the person who posted this never provided any details to confirm what did or didn't happen in this case. it's not known if this was a j-brace issue or something completely unrelated. the guy posted pictures and then never came back.

This is how ford described it on the official tech service bulletin that went out to all service departments

They cancelled and refunded mine as well. Wonder if there's an aftermarket option at this point?

Ford has handled this incredibly ineptly. Its an incredibly simple part to fix this issue, it should be super easy to crank them out. They should also be paying for their mistake, not charging customers. I like the truck but I'm not impressed by Ford one bit. At this point if any asks me, I would tell them don't buy a Ford.

First post here. Just had my brackets installed, putting top on soon. Dealer did work for free, and I was reimbursed for cost of the parts. Sadi there is a brand new customer satisfaction program for this issue.
