One touch up/down windows for rear windows

I did it yesterday when I got home. Took 20mins max. I only did the auto up side. I have a dog that rides in the back and didn’t want to have him accidentally hit the full down. Gonna try to see if this is the same deal with the rear window tonite. So the rear slider can full open and close with one push or pull, instead of holding until completely closed or open.

Interested to see what you find in the rear slider switch. Though it doesn’t have any programmed auto functionality by other means (global windows, etc…) so I’d bet there isn’t the ability.

I don't believe that Ford offers one touch up/down rear windows in any model. Lincoln does though, so it's not a blanket prohibition across the corporation. Maybe that feature is a differentiator between Ford and Lincoln? Odd, if so.

*Edit* I may have spoken to soon. Sounds like the Maverick has them (or recently had) and I know the Bronco at least did at one time as well. It's just not obvious based on the order guides for current models.

Wife's 22 Escape Titanium has auto up and down on all 4 windows..

You must have missed my post where I already did it once i saw it could be done with the front.

Oh yeah… do I have it wrong?? I thought they were talking about the rear -center- window. The side slider facing the bed. THAT one likely doesn’t have a one-touch secretly built in…does it??

Nope the rear sliding bet switch doesn’t function the same way as the door windows. Did the same thing I did yesterday to the rear window switches on the driver panel by trimming the little spacers. When you pull or push the switch to full stop now the window quits sliding instead of auto completing the slide. It would have been cool if it had worked but hey having the rear passenger windows go up and down with a quick pull is awesome for no cost.

I had thought about buying some front window switches to put in the rear window switch position on the driver’s door, so I could have auto up/down for the rear windows. This trick was too simple not to do. I only did the switches on the driver’s door tonight. I’ll be doing the rear door switches this weekend.

For what it's worth, a pair of small end cutting pliers make short work of those tabs.
you can make the horizontal and vertical cuts to the back side and the horizontal cut on the front side of the switch. A utility knife takes care of the vertical cut that the pliers can't reach.

My bad, I thought you were talking about the rear door switches and not just the rear switches in the master switch. I skimmed over where you said slider. I don't think there's any such thing for the slider.

Gotta keep the ranger less desirable than the F series. If it had all the features, people would be tempted to buy the truck size they actually want.

I find Ford to be the stingiest of manufacturers when it comes to features. They won me this time for the ranger, but only barely.

Yeah, certainly features for days on the Lariat. And they won me as well - that and it’s the only mid-size I don’t drag my head on the ceiling (maybe the lack of sunroof in the upper levels). There’s a LOT to really like about the little FFRanger!
You’re probably right, can’t go competing with the golden goose!
