We discussed this before, but according to eTrailer, I need kit ETBC7 to convert 4-pin to 7-pin.
It also says to hook up the red wire from the TBC to the cold side of the brake switch. I think that will work for activating the TBC with the brake pedal, but won't work for the AEB. Remember, though, there was no AEB in the past and people were fine towing.
At this point, I just want to add a hitch receiver and 7 pin. The TBC can come later. If I do, and Ford, eTrailer or Curt haven't found a simple solution, I will get the kit made for 19-23 Rangers (VKB3Z2C006A ) as it has a method to get the signal from the CHMSL to trigger the TBC in AEB situations. I wouldn't hook up the TBC directly to the CHMSL, as that might cause weird stuff to happen.

This should be the factory trailer brake module needed. It appearsyou with need 2 small harnesses, the controller and the bezel for the factory look and operation.

VR1WZ-19H332-A is the brake controller kit part number for the 2024+ ranger with the 7 pin with no controller. It is made by Lumin.

Do you have Forscan? It would be interesting to do a dump of your asbuilt before and after the service visit.
I'm in the process of trying to add a tbc to my 25 xlt with the $500 factory tow. so far using this thread, I see I have the majority of the stuff. that plug Ill be looking for under the trm, but my cousin into the parts dept at my dealer said the trailer brake switch wasnt available to public yet, but he could order it for me, and so far using this thread, I've been finding part numbers and diagram on component locations to give to him.

I have my asbuilt downloaded from ford website. and once I find all the tbc items, and have the dealer install, Ill compare my asbuilt.

what your calling the Trailer brake module, is what my truck is caling the trailer control module when I look at modules in forscan.(screenshot trying to attach) ill have to look in the easy configuration and see if the trailer brake is enabled already.

i've looked, but I havent changed anything yet. ill wait till after ford installs the trailer brake switch and that. but based on your post, and others. all I need is the dash trim, switch, and to hook into that capped off plug under the trm.

I am hoping for that as well. All my 2014 f150 needed was the factory controller and to be added in at Ford. This new technology with advanced trailer with the controller in the new Ranger might have other "quirks" that might cause headaches when "turning on" the factory brake controller. Keep us posted!

will do. idk why my screenshot didnt attach earlier. ill try now, but I havent seen if that capped off plug is there because its pouring rain. but like I said, my truck is shiwing the trm with the part # you said was the tbc module, and looks the same as my trm.

Ill also get my asbuilt data after they make changes.

I have a 25 xlt 2.3Ltr with fx4, tow and sport appearance packages added

Im also trying to add the heated mirrors off the lariat(minus the camera's and humidity sensor)

didnt realize they wernt heated till easter sunday. my 2012 escape xlt had heated, but my 2025 ranger xlt its an option? lol

dealer fucked up on delivery day. I was quoted and paid for winters on alloys for my second set of rims.... service dept used wrong quote # and put steelies in the pan. so thats being corrected. but my salesman is trying to get me the heated mirrors for free, or heavily discounted. I see the knockouts under the mirrors for the puddle lights and stuff. so they may just order the components I want/need. but thats a different post.

Once I get whats needed for the intragrated brake controller, and it all works, I will either make a post referenceing this thread, or update directly in here. it has the trailer menu on the dash, and all the trailer functions thus far work on my utility and I saw the trm behind the bcm. but didnt know about that mysterious plug below it. if I got that, seems like all I should need is dash switch, trim, and the harness to that plug if it thats all the cousin finds I need. I'll peak again in the easy config in forscan and see if any of the other trailer options are enabled on my laptop in a bit.

So I managed to find part numbers for the tbc dash switch and the trim piece. Im just looking for rhe harness to go from tbc to the capped off plug we got under the trm. maybe we can get the 2 connectors and make our own harness, then use forscan to turn on all the trailer brake stuff? I looked in forscan the other day, and there are a bunch of trailer brake settings in 2 or 3 different modules in the non asbuilt programming on my 25 xlt, including forscan saying the brake control module is present. maybe mine also got the itbc wires behind the dash. ill have to look, but it does have the plug under the trm

if anyone can look up the wiring pin out of the itbc that can tell us if we can make our own harness or not. I think I also found the pigtail harness that comnects to the capped off plug under dash for tbc's.

(anyone else on mobile have trouble attaching pictures, even when you go to desktop mode? sometimes it works, most the time is doesn't. lol)

Happy to report that the Redarc trailer brake controller I installed back in January works with my new trailer.

Happy to report that the Redarc trailer brake controller works I installed works.
Now I have questions.
Did your truck already have the tow package with the 7-pin plug?
How did you hook up the brake sense wire? To the pedal switch or to a brake lamp wire?
Any concerns about Auto-Emergency Braking working properly?

Yes, my truck already has the 7-pin plug, and I used the etrailer.com Redarc kit intended for the 2024 Bronco.

I have not tested the Auto-Emergency Braking system with the trailer hooked up.

IF* you have the Basic Tow Package, then there is a pre-wired and activated gray plug to the left of the brake pedal that contains Power, Ground, Brake Active Signal, and Output to the appropriate connector in your factory installed 7 pin connector out back. I verified all 4. I also tested the AEB, all be it in reverse, and the braking signal at the connector activated without any Brake pedal input by me. This gray connector plugs directly into the Red-Arc adapter made for the same year Ford Bronco. No customer wiring required. I in no way guarantee it will work. Use this info entirely at your own risk! Getting that out of the way. It appears to work.

The small Red LED is connected to the gray connector Brake signal pin. FYI, the brake signal pin is from the BCM, not a simple tap in this config. Happy Towing.

In my haste to get the truck, I didn't realize it had no tow package, only the 4-pin and bumper pull.
It seems to have all the wiring for the 7 pin under the bumper, but just the 4 wires coming out of that connector. I haven't investigated connectors under the dash, and I'm not too confident that the necessary signals are there.

was a guy in this thread who was looking at adding a TBC to his Ranger without the basic tow kit. I believe he found the connector, but the brake signal from the BCM wasn't active in it, and there was no way to practically activate it from what I remember.
