I think that's only if you have lighted mirrors on the sun visors.

April 14, 2026NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 26V238000
Sun Visor Wiring May Cause Fire
Damaged wires can create an electrical short and cause a fire in the A-pillar area, increasing the risk of injury or a crash.

NHTSA ID Number: 26V238000
Manufacturer Ford Motor Company
Components STRUCTURE, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Number of Units Affected: 140201
Summary
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Ranger vehicles. The sun visor or headliner wiring harnesses may be improperly positioned or have excessive tape thickness, which can result in damaged wires.

Got my notification for this on my truck too. Sounds a bit ridiculous and I won't be taking my truck in for this. I skipped the one for the airbag clip recall or whatever that could cut into the side curtain airbag upon deployment. I'll take my chances. Not having them take all those interior pieces apart and hope they put it back together correctly again.

I don't even have mirrors and I have the recall. I think it's more the wiring going to the overhead lights through the A pillar.

Yep, my VIN shows on the NHTSA site, but nothing in the Ford app. I don't have lights on my visors, but I do have mirrors... Wonder if the harness is there anyway? Or as others are saying maybe it's the overhead lighting... Is it bad I'm kinda hoping they have to drop the headliner again? I'd love another chance to ask them to put up sound deadening lol.

Just had the new recall A-pillar recall pop up on Carfax, but not on FordPass. The 26C10 towing recall still shows up on both for the Ranger, but oddly has disappeared from both FordPass and Carfax for the F 150?

Here’s the NHTSA report which adds some much needed details.

Bottom line all 2022-2025 rangers will get a software update to the bcm which will only allow a set number of resets from a short circuit detection

only those vehicles that have had a short circuit error code detected will be physIcally inspected and repaired

if you’ve had flickering overhead or visor lights you likely have the issue

I have a Ranger on order with a build date in late May. Does Ford normally fix issues on the line first when there's a recall? Or is it possible to have this recall when I take delivery?

i imagine they already corrected their assembly line so its not an issue for new trucks.
