Gotta be something odd going on at your location. On Autotrader, within 75 miles of me there's 23 new listings and 2 used.

30k miles on mine. No major issues, a handful of dumb software related things. I bought a 175k mile warranty and plan to keep the truck at least that long.
Mostly because there are just a few small dealerships around here that usually only keep 10-15 trucks in stock. They don't get many allocations for Raptors so it's pretty rare to see a new or used one on the lot. I've had my RR since April 2024 and I've only seen 3 RRs besides mine.
I just did a quick search on Autotrader for used 2024-25 Ranger Raptors. There are none within 75 miles and there is 1 within 100 miles. There are 3 new ones within 100 miles. Used Ford Ranger Raptor for Sale in Dixfield, ME - Autotrader

I've got a little over 12,000 mi on my little over a year old Ranger Raptor.

I've taken it on a 6800 mile road trip from the east coast over through much of Utah, Arizona and Colorado. Did Moab, North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Alpine loop including mineral creek, among many forest service roads and random trails.. I did this while towing a 2,000 lbs trailer out west.

Zero issues aside from normal maintenance, learning about a new vehicle etc. Actually, no.. I do get a towing wiring error every once in a while, but the trailer lights still work. I just click OK to dismiss it after confirming lights are still working in the rear view mirror. If you use your vehicle, you're going to need to maintain it. I don't expect something I use to not see wear or be flawless all the time. None of the issues have left me stranded or made me concerned for my safety.

That's not to discount the issues some people may be experiencing. I have no doubt those are very real and matter greatly to them. However, this is not my first vehicle. Not even my 5th vehicle. If you've been around long enough you know this stuff happens across all manufacturers. Warranties are there for a reason. It's part of owning a vehicle and you can either spend energy enjoying it or hating it. This is not a corolla or prius mean to to get you to work. You buy a Ranger Raptor for reasons beyond simple transportation.

Anyway, in about a month I'm heading out on another cross country trip to hit up the trails, views and dry weather they have in the Rockies that we don't have here on the east coast. Going to try and do a little less miles but still anticipate somewhere around 5,000 miles. I am not concerned about the reliability of the truck. I have confidence it'll take me where I need to go.

As to why so many used trucks.. I have no idea. I know my wife and I still really like ours. If I didn't hve one already I'd be looking at those used raptors to see if they presented enough of a deal to entice me to purchase over new.

More used than new around here last I checked.

I can imagine a few reasons why some folks might fairly quickly find the RR wasn't the best choice for them. Not everyone goes into a dealership with a clear idea of exactly what they're looking for. And certainly the RR is a rather seductive vehicle regardless of whether or not you're in its target audience. I'd wager more than a few have been bought on pure emotion rather than actual need. Perhaps some of those cases result in a quick flip which is not so much about the truck's RR-ness, but its the Ranger-ness. ie. you get seduced by the idea of owning a Raptor, think you can live with a mid-size, but find that in the end the rear passenger space is too tight, the towing a bit lacking or the bed is just too small.

In my case, despite contemplating all those things, my circumstances forced me into a smaller truck this time around. The general feel, motor and the upscale... well for a mid-size... interior put the RR over the top for me against any of the competition. Off-roading was never a part of my equation, but the truck ticked enough boxes that the compromises from a on-road standpoint didn't (and still don't) bother me much. But I could see some more impulsive buyers concluding after a few thousand miles that the RR is simply too off-road focused, the motor/suspension are overkill for the street and the day to day tires/brakes/handling/ride quality setup isn't for them.

Given the occasional gravel or dirt road is the about the most my truck will ever see, I do occasionally wonder, bed vs enclosed aside, if I (and my wife in particular) might have been better served by something more on-road focused along the lines of an Explorer ST. Regardless, my expectation is to be driving my RR for at least 6 years or so, but if sometime before that Ford introduced a more street focused version, ie. a Ranger Lobo, I could see myself trading for that.

I have almost 20K miles on mine and I been taking it on traisl and off roading the crap out of it. So far I been liking more than the 2017 Tacoma TRD OFF-ROAD that I put 90K miles on before trading it for my RR. The only thing the Tacoma benefits over the RR is the ground clearance and access to almost unlimited mods from many different manufactures. The RR has been hard to fine accessories that I want. Other than that the RR is way superior than my turd gen tacoma.

Maybe these are survivors from the Ranger Raptor Assault School, those trucks that haven’t rolled and been totaled out. LOL. Surely they change out their trucks after a year, the old ones have to go somewhere…..

What are the prices? How do they look?

Probably not “survivors” from the Raptor Assault School. I was there and was told they hold onto the vehicles 🚗 until a new generation comes out. (That is what they have been doing with the F 150 Raptors)

It’s commercial vehicles and testers most likely. My dealership got one in, there were apparently a bunch sold through online auctions and shipped from Michigan all over the country to dealers that bid on them.

They’re probably dealer demos
33 of them within short distance of my house when there are only a handful of Ford dealers around here? That would be odd...

These trucks are all priced $57k to $63k. Which brings me to another point... those prices are INSANE. I can build a brand new Colorado ZR2 for less. Hell, I can buy a F-250 or Ram 2500 for less. Why in the world would I pay $60k for a USED Ranger, especially when there are DOZENS of them for sale that are all identical? Doubly so when it appears sketchy that there are so many for sale with very low mileage. That's going to make a smart shopper go hmmmmmm.............

I just built a comparable ZR2 and it’s still 54k that’s about the same price as a Ranger Raptor and has a worse engine

Agreed. But OTOH, given dealers over the past year or so have been rabidly buying used ones and then marking them up over original list, perhaps more than a few early adopters decided that owning the truck for a year and losing only a grand or two in the process made it worth moving on to something else. Dealer markup insanity is a good thing for RR trade-in value. Great for sellers, if not buyers.

I have 8K miles on my 24 with no problems. My only complaint is the apple car play interface with my IPhone. It’s finicky sometimes. We just became a second RR family, the wife has an azure gray 25 with the base rims and minus the side decals.
Dude I had CarPlay issues too! It was aggravating at times. It would literally lockup and freeze but still play music. I'd have to turn the truck off completely and reboot the system. Happened three times the first month of ownership. Hasn't happened since then, but I told myself if it happens again I'm gonna scream.

My new one was 63k out the door with taxes and registration. That's with 10% sales tax as well! I had seen one or two used 2024s in my area, but they were almost the exact same cost as a brand new one.
