One touch up/down windows for rear windows

I have a 2025 Ranger lariat that has auto up/down front windows but not back windows. I can also have all windows go up or down with the key fob. I don’t know which versions of Ranger have this setup but if yours does this then you can probably do this mod too. The switches that don’t have auto up/down have a plastic tab that prevents the button from being pushed down far enough to engage the auto up or down feature, if you simply cut the tab off then the switch will work like the auto up/down ones. I did it on my drivers side rear window switches and both rear switches and they all have auto up/down now. You have pry the switch panel up in the seam and it will unclip and you can unplug it. Then unscrew 3 screws on the drivers side or pry the switch out with the four tabs for the rear ones. Once the switch is out you can cut the tab off.

You don't need them. Once you look at the switches outside of the door card, you'll clearly see the tabs. Just rock the switch and you'll see exactly where the tabs stop you just short. You'll be like, sonuvabitch... really?!?!?

Reminds me of the headlight switch in 97+ F150s (and probably many others.)
To get the switch to turn on the fog lights with low beams or even park lights, was trim off a physical tab on the switch...

So explain this to me like I’m an idiot (hahah) to remove the switch set from the door you simply pry it up with a flathead screwdriver?

Did it. Works! Awesome. I used a small round file to file down the little tabs.

I was actually going to go buy front switches for the back but this solves exactly what I wanted. Nice find….what led you to make this discovery? Did you see or hear about this somewhere?
